We kept a solid liver bitch puppy from Jess' litter and called her Rosa. At six weeks old she was enthusiastically retrieving toys which we threw for her. She has a lovely biddable temperament and she enjoys life to the full. She has a great enthusiasm for life and especially for being a gundog. Since she was 18 months old she has been working with Helen Philips and she is now a great little hunter and a manic retriever. At the beginning of 2007, she injured her front paw and had to rest up for three months, so she missed the 2007/8 season. However she went out beating this year and loved every minute of it. This year we will concentrate on honing her skills for next season and perhaps do a few working test for fun.
She loves obedience and achieved two second places in her first competition. We have enjoyed showing her and she qualified for Crufts 2009 at the Three Counties Agricultural Show. She was placed First by Gill Roden in Post Graduate Bitch. She is about to take her Gold Good Citizen test.
Rosa will be having her first litter after the 2009/10 season.

Jess was born in August 2001. She was bred by William Tomlinson. All her family work regularly and her brother Dalkur Faramir recently became a Field Trial Champion.
Jess has been trained as a working dog. She displays excellent game finding ability and is a quiet and steady worker.
She has been very infrequently shown but has been placed several times.
She is an affectionate and loyal companion and really enjoys obedience work and agility.
In her spare time, she is working towards her Gold standard Good Citizen test!
Jess has had one litter, in 2006. She was a wonderful mother, needing very little assistance from us until she decided at about 3 weeks old that it was time we took over the feeding! Her puppies are all thriving. Two of them are working - Rosa and Karl, who is a deer-stalking dog in Surrey. The other four are much loved family pets. The most frequent feed back we have from their owners is that they all have wonderful temperaments, which to us is the most important thing.
For more information about the puppies go to our Past Litters page.

Otto was born in December 2003. He was bred by Angela Boyd. He came to live with us when he was 6 months old, after a working home in Sweden fell through. He immediately showed natural ability as a working dog and seemed to already know most of the things we were teaching him! However his strong hunting drive made him a real challenge to control and it is only in the last year that we have finally managed to convince him that he should be hunting with us and not for himself. He is now settling down and everything seems to be coming together. Look out for further news of his progress!
He has achieved his Silver Good Citizens award and is now working for his Gold. This is important for his socialisation and all our dogs go through this scheme.
He has only been shown a few times, but he qualified for and was shown at Crufts 2005. He has grown into a very big dog and is more suited to the standard in Europe and America than in the UK. We no longer show him for this reason.
Otto is one of the very few dogs who have a perfect 0/0 hip score.
His enthusiasm and commitment is total in everything he does and he proved to be a gentle and extremely tolerant 'uncle' to Jess' puppies.

Clem was born in March 1996. German Shorthaired Pointer Rescue asked us to take him when he was 8 months old, as his owners had split up. We were not allowed to have his pedigree, so we have never
shown him or competed with him. He was, however, being trained as a hawking dog, by his first owner. It took a long time to get him to retrieve, as this is something a hawking puppy must not be allowed to do, but now he is a keen retriever and above all loves to swim!
He is the senior member of our pack. He is fit and active and often gets mistaken for a puppy - from a distance!
